Japan Relief collection I covet those little knickknacks you can buy to benefit charity, but only if 100% of the proceeds go towards the charity of choice. LUSH did what I like with their peace pots and soaps, with 100% of the proceeds going to Rescue Stock Yard, Animal Stock Yard, and the NGO Collaboration Centre for Hanshin Quake Rehabilitation.
I covet those little knickknacks you can buy to benefit charity, but only if 100% of the proceeds go towards the charity of choice. LUSH did what I like with their peace pots and soaps, with 100% of the proceeds going to Rescue Stock Yard, Animal Stock Yard, and the NGO Collaboration Centre for Hanshin Quake Rehabilitation.
My top pick is the Charity Pot, since it's only $5! The hand lotion pot is a great size for toting or keeping in your desk at work, and you'll support Japan relief efforts while still fighting the scalies. LUSH explains their initiative:
"We are heartbroken over the devastation and destruction in Japan. For us it is very personal, as LUSH has 145 shops, a factory and 1,600 staff in Japan. Some of these staff and their families have lost everything. Knowing our connection to Japan, many customers have contacted us asking us how to help."
Yay! If the lotion doesn't do it for you, the Rising Sun Soap, shown, is another option. Priced at $5.95, it is cherry-scented and molded in a smooth and creamy block.
The Rising Sun Soap benefits the Peace Boat charity exclusively, which is a non-governmental, non-profit organization supporting partnership programs between Japan and the rest of the world. They also have seven Peace Centers in Japan for their cooperative projects in the country.
Will you be picking up something from LUSH?
