When I was in junior high and high school I had really thick eyebrows. They were thick and flat and really almost a unibrow but not quite. Well college came along and with it the destruction of my gorgeous brows.
I began listening to my dumb friends that came from really small towns that had like no style at all but I didn't know it. They plucked some really arched eyebrows on themselves and I admiringly followed suit. And you know what happens when you pluck your eyebrows and you don't know what you're doing?
You have to pluck a little more to straighten out the crookedness and then after a while, you have an over plucked eye brow mess that you have to draw eyebrow pencil on to re-shape. Bummer.
Then what you discover is they don't grow back the same way. Bigger bummer.
I was recently looking at this website for eyebrows [ http://www.eyebrowz.com/faceshape.htm ] that really explained face shape and eyebrows. I discovered that I have a long face and that I should not even have arched eyebrows. Mine should actually be flat (you know like they originally were). So I took an eyebrow pencil and drew my eyebrows in more flat, covering in the arch that's been there for years. I took a couple pictures of myself and to my astonishment, it looks much much better.
Hollywood beauty expert Damone Roberts thinks of eyebrows as the most important part of your face.
"You really need to have your brows shaped correctly. They are your single most important feature after 40. Getting your brows done professionally is like getting a mini face-lift. They add balance and structure to your face," he says.
Damone is known as The Eyebrow King in Hollywood. He revolutionized the beauty industry by sculpting the perfect arch that has graced some of the worlds most famous and beautiful faces including Madonna, Beyonce and Alicia Keys. His Damone Roberts flagship salon is packed in Beverly Hills and his Manhattan salon.
Roberts says that "The thicker the brow, the younger the look. A thinner brow makes you look older and sinister. Look at Cinderella and her stepsisters. Cinderella has the thick brows and the evil stepsisters have the thinner brows. Thin brows post 40 make you look extreme and older."
I think your brows change your face when you're in you're 20's and 30's too.
He has a product that he says regrows eyebrows. It's called Brow Gain, and it's his biggest selling product. Robert's says "Apply it nightly on your brows and it will stimulate the follicle. It does a little tap dance on your follicles. It really brings it back to life. The product is filled with liquid biotin and takes about six to eight weeks for results. People tell me they hadn't seen growth in 20 years and this has brought them back."
