What Jennifer Aniston Needs

I was never a huge Jennifer Aniston fan. I liked her best when she was married to Brad Pit around 1999/2000.

Her hair was super long, she was riding high, just getting ready to tackle the movie world, and Friends was peaking. That was a great time for her. When the whole Angelina Jolie thing happened, I was actually Team Jolie, because Angelina just seemed cooler and sexier. Lately though I've started really liking Jennifer Aniston. I like her toughness. That girl is tough as nails.

You don't get harassed and bullied by the media like that and keep it as cool as she has with out being tough. She's tough mentally and I find that really attractive. As much embarrassing insulting bullshit the "tear you down" media has thrown at her, she always comes out to the interviews sounding balanced, mature and downright peppy. You've got to give her credit. I think that might be one of the reasons the media has targeted her so much, in some sick way, to see if she would crack. Can miss perky all American be broken if we put her down enough. Well she can't. I'm always a fan of the underdog, and even though she's really rich and very famous, she's become the underdog in my book. So what's up with her career? She needs an overhaul big time. These romantic comedy, poorly written poorly directed, waste of an hour and a half movies have to stop. First, they are really predictable, and stupid, but mostly they are just so redundant. Jennifer Aniston seems like an emotionally tough person too and while that's great for dealing with life, it's not great for acting. Great actresses are capable of showing lots and lots of vulnerability and that is something that she has not shown in a lot of her work. Even in that movie "The Good Girl" with Jake Gyllenhaal, she was not really all that vulnerable, although that's the closest she's come. She needs to do a role that is dramatically different from her cute, happy, peppy, sassy personality. She either needs to show some real weakness, sadness, or craziness. Be a character in an insane asylum. I know that's Angelina territory but people would be more spellbound if Jennifer could pull it off. It's so unexpected. At the very least she could go work out with her trainer, get jacked up and go shoot some Aliens or something in an action sci/fi flick. Just give us anything, anything, anything besides a lame romantic comedy. Can she do it? Take on a real demanding, challenging, soul moving type of role. We think so. She's a survivor and survivors can do anything.
