Film Maker Of The Month: Steven Escolar

 We love Steven his forte is in making experimental art films, what better then to present this unique artist with the challenge of making something somewhat commercial. He filmed the video we made of our favorite perfume.

Colombian born, Miami raised, Steven Escolar's influences range from Bill Cunningham to David Lynch. Steven Escolar studied film at Miami Dade College before deciding to take his vocation into his own hands. " Everything I know I learned from watching movies. " claims the 27 year old. "I would look at fashion magazines to inspire me as a child" Everything from GQ to VOUGE Magazine. As much as he has influenced by the aesthetic, Steven's approach has always been about capturing the natural. Steven has worked on documentaries and music videos for local Miami based talent and enjoys street photography. "I love the idea of mixing ideas. I like looking at art at the local south beach galleries and all the cotoure fashion on magazines and thinking of ways to combine them and express them through photography and video. I step back and let them naturally come together, stand back and capture what unfolds."
