Everyone loves going to runway shows. It's a lot more glamorous though when your getting dressed up and going to a fashion show for the entertainment value or to be seen or whatever. When you're in the industry and you're covering fashion shows at the fashion weeks, it's a lot of running around like a maniac for 12 hours a day, for weeks! So the idea of just kind watching it from your computer at home is somewhat appealing, albeit probably a lot less fun.
Anyway, Production and PR agency KCD has announced the launch of digital fashion shows, a platform showcasing runway shows that debuts during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York. Founded by KCD Digital and developed in partnership with King & Partners, the site is unavailable to the public but allows invited members of the press and buyers to log in using a password and watch pre-taped runways shows commencing at specific times. Run of show information will appear with each look and photographs of front and back views available along with detail shots of shoes, jewelry and accessories. Videos, images and transcripts are also downloadable and printable with designer credit and bio information also available. KCD Co-President Ed Filipowski says, 'The platform provides all the information and materials needed to review, cover and potentially buy the collection, just like a physical show, but each of the invited guests has a front row seat and behind the scenes access at their fingertips'. The debut show airs February 15 at 11:30am featuring Prabal Gurung’s inaugural lCB collection for Onward Kashiyama.
