London Fashion Week Roundup

I used to live in London for a year, but I have not been back in 10 years. Things have changed so much as you can imagine. London is such a busy city now. It's as busy as New York. It used to be that there were quiet, almost suburban areas within central London. Now everywhere is packed. They have stepped up their fashion game too. You already know that the last couple of years London has been trending with Kate and Pippa Middleton and hot designers like Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney (although she's more in Paris now), and Burberry. So I wanted to personally cover London this season. The first thing you have to know about London Fashion Week is it has a personality all its own, and that personality is quirky. It's generally known as the emerging designer fashion week and I think because of that there is a real freedom of expression that comes along with it. Established designers can become really restricted by success and the demands of commercialism. But in London even the bigger designers maintain that sense of quirkiness. And it's not just the designers the attendees all have this slightly off kilter vibe. It's fun and even weird sometimes. Once you get to Milan and Paris the concept of fashion gets pretty serious.
