When Kate Upton and her assets jiggled onto the scene dancing the Dougie on YouTube (and then the Cat Daddy for Terry Richardson), lots of people (like Victoria’s Secret) were quick to dismiss her as a flash-in-the-pan bit of T&A. Turns out Kate has higher fashion aspirations than just teeny bikinis–but can she pull it off?

The mag makes a convincing case for Upton’s high fashion potential, styling her in Altuzarra without a hint of cleavage, and taking her on a tour of some big name designers’ studios–one of whom sees runway potential in her.

Upton wants to be high fashion, too. At Altuzarra’s studio she said, “Now I enjoy fashion so much, but I don’t think people realize it, because I’m always in a bikini.”

After visiting Altuzarra, Upton popped over to new BFF Michael Kors’ studio (remember she was his guest to the Met Ball) for some career advice. Kors likes her curves and wouldn’t necessarily cover them up:
