Kate Upton may have scored a Vogue shoot, but girl is most famous for those ubiquitous bikini shots (in GQ, in Sports Illustrated, on YouTube...) So pardon us while we skeptically examine yet another Upton attempt at high-fashion chic, as the Sports Illustrated 2012 swimsuit star walked the red carpet for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (the Oscars, this was not).

Joined by a rather random assortment of celebs (Tracy Morgan, Debra Messing, Kelly Osbourne and Anna Kendrick...) Upton posed in a vibrant orangey-red cocktail dress with camel-colored platform heels. She also attempted a swept-up hairstyle, a 'do we think was intended to be a chic chignon but drifted dangerously into Kate Gosselin territory...

And that's certainly not the Kate we'd encourage Upton to channel.
