On Wednesday Aug 8th, I attended the Skaist Taylor Preview Party for their new Fall collection held at the Neiman Marcus in Bal Harbour Florida.
This was an excellent event, just before the Fashion show began, SocialMiami.com’s fashion contributor, Elysze Held conducted a brief and entertaining question and answer session with Gela Nash Taylor and Pamela Skaist- Levy, the founders of Juicy Couture and designers of Skaist Taylor.
As if this spectacular fashion show was not enough, complimentary makeovers were also provided by Estee Lauder and Le Metier; mini manicures featuring Chanel’s fall color palette were provided by Midtown Miami’s Nail Bar and cocktails were served courtesy of Chambord.
Here’s a sneak peak of the event:

(from left to right) Casting Director Claudia Jean, Skaist Taylor Model Serlena Breed, (myself), Manager of Jimmy Choo (Merrick Park) Evelyn Almonte)

Of course I had to grab a pic with one of my favorite fashion bloggers Niani Tolbert of The Fierce Fantasy

Model Serlena Breed worked the runway!!!
Now time for the ASMI outfit details! I knew for this event I wanted a simple but elegant look so I grabbed one of my ASMI fitted pencil dresses but it needed something extra to finish it and just a couple nights prior I made a neck piece and the two worked well together!!
Here is the process broken down in one shot:

Ayesha Ibrahim
Ayesha Ibrahim is an electrifying, radiant Fashion designer from the island of Barbados; her designs are glamorous, enticing and romantic while maintaining a true Caribbean vibe.
With her mother being from Barbados and her father from Tanzania, Africa; Ayesha’s background and culture is displayed in her designs. Growing up in Barbados she always had an eye for style and fashion. At the age of 16 Ayesha began modeling, undertaking various print and runway projects. Those experiences opened her eyes to the intense world of fashion and the variety of avenues this industry has to offer.
At the age of 20 Ayesha relocated to Miami, Florida to pursue her Bachelor of Business with a focus in International Business but throughout her studies she kept her eye on fashion and its trends and as a result began styling various clients located in the Caribbean and United States. It was upon completion of her first degree that Ayesha encountered a revelation, realizing that she was not expressing herself fully as the artist she is.
“Even though I was styling my clients, I did not feel like I was styling them to express their true self. I wanted them to wear a brand that defined them as I saw them, as strong, independent, intellectual, beautiful women... I wanted them to wear ASMI.”
Such a realization pushed Ayesha to pursue her Master of Fine Arts majoring in Fashion Design at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, California and as a result create her brand, the definition of all things that embody a woman, ASMI “take me as I am”.
Her latest projects include having ASMI featured in a series of magazine shoots throughout South Florida and designing a gown for Filmmaker & Humanitarian Nominee, Alison Thompson to be worn at the Australia 2012 Instyle Red Carpet Women of Style awards.
