StraitSwim Australian Swimwear Gives Back

A brand new, gorgeous swimwear line by designer Alyssa Levesque had such a passion for the Torres Strait Island’s culture and beauty that she incorporated this vibe into her stunning designs and patterns.  With a true love of island culture, they are giving back 21% of profits for 21 days to Hurricane relief.

The brand called Strait Swim and has focused on the island gypsy vibes as inspiration. These stylish suits are modern while capturing the unique culture of the islands and the people of Northern Australia. Telling a story in each design, StraitSwim uses high-end fabrics and simple, clean comfortable cuts to frame your beautiful body! All prints are actually hand drawn with water color by a local Australian artist and each print is sold with a story. On a mission to fuse traditional island culture with the style of a modern boho beach babe.

Born and raised in the Bay Area of Northern California, founder Alyssa Levesque was inspired to create StraitSwim after living and experiencing life with her long time partner Patty (who now plays basketball for the San Antonio Spurs). Upon meeting him, it was evident that his Aboriginal and Torres Strait culture is a part of his everyday life. Ten years together and it’s naturally become a part of Alyssa’s life as well. Since her very first ferry ride from Horn Island to Thursday Island, she has been impassioned by the culture. Catching her first fish on a reef off of Prince of Wales, performing a traditional dance at a big celebration event, and even learning some secret island recipes, Alyssa was uplifted by the Torres Strait. Combining her experiences with a true passion for fashion, the gorgeous swimwear from StraitSwim was born!
