Quito
Quito is the capital of Ecuador and is famous of their hot bed colonial architecture. With it’s architecturally masterpieces of white washed buildings with red tile roof, this is city is considered as one of the most beautiful place in South America. If you are used living in large cities you will be amazed by the lack of neon in Quito.
The capital of Ecuador has an eternal spring climate throughout the year surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The “Avenida Amozonas” known as Avenue of Amazons, is a great area with outdoor cafes and people watching. Due to economic problems in Ecuador beware of the pickpocket thieves.
Avenue of the Volcanoes
A must see Avenue of Volcanoes is located at South of Quito. Around each side of the valley are the mountain peaked scattered with dormant volcanoes. The small villages in the valley give the area an old world vibe.
Galapagos Islands
The two inseparable Galapagos Islands and Darwin, roughly 600 miles off the mainland. The Galapagos is consisting of 13 islands with exotic wildlife. You can visit the islands by by plane from San Cristobal or take a ferry ride to the major islands such as Isabela. The entrance to the island cost a $100 permit per person.
San Lorenzo Railway
A new experience that you must experience, a ride from San Lorenzo Railway to Ibarra. The trip by train is very interest that runs through picture square scenery. Only in Ecuador, experience the train is actually a bus converted for the tracks.
