Welcome to Boracay! An island of the Philippines located south of Manila, Panay Island, Western Visayas. The Boracay Island and its white beaches were awarded many times around the globe. It was awarded by TripAdvisor as a “Travelers Choice 2011” as the 2nd beach of 25 best beach around the world. It was also featured in the Top 10 Islands list in the Travel + Leisure travel Magazine as the World’s Best Awards 2011.
Tourism
Because of the in and weather patterns, tourism in Boracay the best and peak season is during Amihan Season where the water is often glassy smooth. The main tourism of Boracay is its white crystal beach located on the Western side of the island and is sheltered from the wind.
Accommodation
Accommodations is never been a problem in Boracay, you can choose from the ranging luxurious hotel types to budget, Spartan rooms. The locations of Boracay are specified as three boat stations. Station 2 is roughly located in the center of Boracay Island and Station 1 and 3 to the North and South of the island. The finest and whitest sand texture is found in Station 1 at the northern part and end of the beach.
The luxurious hotel are found in station 1 area, station 2 hotels are the middle class and station 3 where the most of the cheaper lodgings are located.
The Boracay hotels and resorts have seasonal price, generally coinciding with the Amihan Season dates. The seasons for heavy tourism were Christmas/New Year, Easter / Holy Week, and Chinese New Year Periods.
Leisure activities
The tourism can enjoy the leisure activities in Boracay like scuba, diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, kite boarding, cliff diving, and beach relaxation. It has also a site world class 18 hole par 72 golf course designed by Graham Marsh. As of 2010, Boracay has in excess of 350 beach resort offering more than 2000 rooms from 5 star hotels to budget lodging. Boracay also offers wide range of restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs.
