The World’s Most Livable City: Melbourne-5826

Welcome to Melbourne, the most liveable city of 2011.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) announced its rankings on the most liveable city in the world from 140 cities on August 2011. If you can recall, Melbourne reclaimed its number position versus Vancouver almost ten years ago.

The ranking report assessed yearly which city around the world offer the best or the worst living conditions based on stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

For the year 2011 it is Melbourne edged ahead of Vienna and Vancouver to take the number one place and the closest Australian rival Sydney was ranked as the sixth best city in the world with the rate of 96.1% from the seventh place six months ago.
