White Hot Summer Night at the Mayfair SFG's Cover Party

Written by  24 August 2012

I do hope you all had a great weekend and are having a productive week thus far. I am trying my best to make this week as productive as possible but I cannot help but reminisce about the events of the past weekend which included me attending South Florida Guide’s Cover Party at the Mayfair Hotel & Spa.

It was the magazine’s 12th edition party with a white hot summer night theme; needless to say it was an elegant and impressive event! Delightful cocktails were provided by Tequila Revolucion and appetizers were provided by the Mayfair.

Everything about this Cover party was on point, from the breathtaking venue, to the cocktails, tasty appetizers and of course hands down to the fabulous attendees dressed in their sexy all-white.

For those of you who have not picked up your 12th edition of SFG magazine, please do so and enjoy my sneak peak of the event below :)

So a bit about my outfit, initially I wanted to wear a white cocktail dress to match the white theme but since it was also a summer party I decided to go with a fun pair of shorts,  sheer blouse and of course my new ASMI clothing accessory; the  mini wrap.

This wrap can be worn in a variety of ways, a couple of examples are below:

But here is how I wore it, front and back in one shot!

That’s all for this post, I do hope you all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it, feel free to check and “like” the ASMI facebook page for updates on upcoming designs and remember ASMI is also on twitter www.twitter.com/asmidesigns

Ayesha Ibrahim

Ayesha Ibrahim is an electrifying, radiant Fashion designer from the island of Barbados; her designs are glamorous, enticing and romantic while maintaining a true Caribbean vibe.

With her mother being from Barbados and her father from Tanzania, Africa; Ayesha’s background and culture is displayed in her designs. Growing up in Barbados she always had an eye for style and fashion. At the age of 16 Ayesha began modeling, undertaking various print and runway projects. Those experiences opened her eyes to the intense world of fashion and the variety of avenues this industry has to offer.

At the age of 20 Ayesha relocated to Miami, Florida to pursue her Bachelor of Business with a focus in International Business but throughout her studies she kept her eye on fashion and its trends and as a result began styling various clients located in the Caribbean and United States.  It was upon completion of her first degree that Ayesha encountered a revelation, realizing that she was not expressing herself fully as the artist she is.

“Even though I was styling my clients, I did not feel like I was styling them to express their true self. I wanted them to wear a brand that defined them as I saw them, as strong, independent, intellectual, beautiful women... I wanted them to wear ASMI.”

Such a realization pushed Ayesha to pursue her Master of Fine Arts majoring in Fashion Design at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, California and as a result create her brand, the definition of all things that embody a woman, ASMI “take me as I am”.

Her latest projects include having ASMI featured in a series of magazine shoots throughout South Florida and designing a gown for Filmmaker & Humanitarian Nominee, Alison Thompson to be worn at the  Australia 2012 Instyle Red Carpet Women of Style awards.
