I went to see the Gottex show with some friends and did not really know what to expect. An Italian friend of mine from Ny York Fashion Week, does their PR and I knew that it is usually one of the bigger shows during swim week. For some reason their past collections never particularly stuck in my head. They are an Israeli based brand, and I met the owner Ronny recently. Anyway, me and my husband and a Broadway performer friend who flew in for the weekend and another friend tom Paris all decided to go.

What happened next was magical! This was the most elegant show of the entire swim wear fashion week. It was the modern James Bong Girl come alive. The whole line was gorgeous detailed and luxurious. The sleek styling of the hair and makeup were a perfect counter balance for the over the top glam of the swimwear.
I had the pleasure of meeting the designer Karen Gasner, after the show. She was charming, tiny, and unassuming with little spectacle glasses. Her personal style was so different from the fantasy world she had created with these clothes. I found it interesting. She did indeed reference James Bond girls with this collection as she explained her thoughts on the materials and patterns.
The crowd was slightly light. I believe it was due to the confusion of this fashion week and all its changes. This show should have been one of the most heavily attended shows of the week it. It was by far one of the best.
