Solange Knowles
After a recent brawl recorded by an elevator camera showing Solange Knowles allegedly beating up her brother-in-law, Jay-Z, the R&B singer saw a spike in record sales.

According to Nielsen SoundScan data given to HipHopDX, the singer’s track went from 600 to 2,000 in sales on the week ending May 18, 2014. The fight was reportedly caught on camera on May 5. Rumors about Jay-Z cheating ensued, however the two have worked through it “as a united family.”

The video, which went viral, showed Solange beating an unresponsive Jay-Z, while the guards tried to restrain her. Beyoncé also showed little reaction during the fight. The three were in an elevator at The Standard hotel in Manhattan after they attended the Met Gala.

The younger Beyoncé sister also saw her streams on Spotify double.

Her second album “Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams,” released in 2008, sold 138,000 copies in total, however these numbers are much lower when compared to Beyoncé’s or Jay-Z’s who sold millions of albums in the U.S. alone.
