It’s been four years since Phillip Lim put his collection on a New York runway. Though the pandemic was hard on his business, Lim persevered. He scaled back his ready-to-wear collections, and brought forth a core version of his aesthetic. Awkwafina and Sherry Cola were in the front row wearing 3.1 sweatshirts that splice the brand logo with NYC landmarks.
The show was American sportswear with a twist. It was comfortable casual; effortless chic, which tended to be a running theme in most shows at New York Fashion Week. There were extra-wide-leg loose pants, breezy full-length dresses, contemporary, Soho urban. This was a look at the cool downtown girl.
