The well-known brand in New York Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, has signed a contract with the company Swimwear Anywhere, preparing to launch on the market twenty pieces ranging from swimsuits to bikinis and sarongs presented parallel to the resort 2015.
WWD reports” that the swimmies will include bikinis, one-pieces, and cover-ups, in typical Proenza silhouettes and inspired by some of the brand’s archival prints.
“We have wanted to do a swimwear collection for a while,” the designers toldWWD.
“We have always been influenced by surf culture and being outside in nature — the ocean has been a constant source of inspiration. The idea of doing swimwear was a natural evolution for us, and many of the pieces are inspired by runway looks and archival prints from past collections.”
And while we only have one image so far, the collection sounds pretty awesome. It will have two themes: One inspired by surf and skate culture, featuring archival prints in bright colors, while the other will be more fashion-forward and inspired by past runway collections, in a palette of black, white and pastels.
The new swimwear line is not the duo’s first initiative outside of their regular ready-to-wear collections: earlier this year, Hernandez and McCoullough collaborated with MAC Cosmetics for a limited-edition product range, comprising lipsticks, eyeliners, and nail polish, among other beauty items.
