Cardi B just gave birth to her second child earlier this month, but this hasn’t halted her journey to becoming a fashion icon of our generation.
Making her return to the spotlight during Paris Fashion Week, the 28-year-old rapper made her presence known through her outfit at Thierry Mugler’s opening of his exhibit, “Thierry Mugler, Couturissime” at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. She made her entrance at the event wearing a red sequin gown with a plunging neckline from Mugler’s fall 1995 couture collection– and she didn’t stop there. As if the gown wasn’t eye-catching enough, the rapper paired it with an extravagant feathered cape and red eyebrows to match.

This certainly isn’t the first time Cardi B has been recognized for her sense of style. During a Vogue summit in 2019, Cardi opened up about this recognition she’s received from not only onlookers but top designers themselves. “I’ve worked so hard to be able to get to these shows. When it comes to the fashion industry, they don’t care if you’ve got number one hits, all the awards, if you just ain’t stylin’ right, they just ain’t gonna invite you to their shows, they just don’t care. You’ve got to be into it and you’ve got to have a sense of style,” she said.
Due to the rapper’s long-time appreciation for fashion, her all-red return would have came as no surprise to fans– except for the fact that she just gave birth a few weeks ago. Earlier this month, Cardi shared a photo to Instagram of her and her husband, Offset, holding their baby boy in a hospital bed. This is their second child together after the birth of their daughter, Kulture, back in 2018.
