Kaia Gerber always seems to be at the center of what’s going on in Fashion. She has just co-designed the perfect lockdown-era legging with Bleusalt, a line of luxe loungewear produced in Kaia’s hometown of Malibu California.
Launched in 2017 by photographer-turned-designer Lyndie Benson, Bleusalt’s beach-friendly pieces are all made from a super-soft, sustainable, breathable, and machine washable fiber derived from beechwood tree pulp.
Kaia’s supermodel mom Cindy Crawford had Bleusalt create a flared palazzo called The Cindy Pant a couple of years ago.
Then during lockdown Kaia told the company she wanted to create a high waisted fitted legging with a bell bottom. The company made a sample for Kaia to wear, which in turn led to requests for the pant from Kaia’s friends, Margaret Qualley, Cara Delevigne and Ashley Benson, and now The Kaia Pant will join the permanent collection.
Kaia Gerber will also be the cover of the September issue of Vogue Japan.
The 18-year-old was shot in a latex suit in an editorial that is highly reminiscent of mom Cindy Crawford at roughly the same age.
Compare the Kaia with this 1988 image, shot by the fashion photographer Arthur Elgort, from the February issue of Vogue, when Crawford was 22. This past March, Vogue Magazine even wrote an article even compiling all the times the mother and daughter looked like “twins.”
