In 1997, he founded his fashion house and during that same year debuted his collection which was called Electric Angels at London Fashion Week. In 2004, he opened his store in Mayfair, London and later followed with an online version of the store.
In 2005, he added perfumes to his list of achievements in the fashion world and later became the Creative Director at Emilio Pucci. For his autumn/winter collection for 2014, he will be working with the Egyptian jewelry label, Azza Fahmy to create pieces to compliment his designs for the collection.

She says that the collaboration between Azza Fahmy and Matthew Williamson came about because they approached him because they enjoy his work. They were able to put together the ideas for the collection by traveling between London and Cairo to work on the details.
