Senorita of the Coachella desert: Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello reunion

We all loved it when he called her Senorita, “the air was hot from summer rain”, it was 2019, and the IT couple emerged onto the scenes like “ooh, la-la-la”: Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello from friendship at fifteen to dating for two years in their twenties finally called it quits in 2021. Camila Cabello then released the hit song Bam Bam to address the change in them both that caused them to drift apart romantically: “You said you hated the ocean, but you’re surfin’ now // I said I’d love you for life, but I just sold our house”. Shawn took it to his guitar and a new single: “When You’re Gone” claiming to have shared the song and feelings with his ex before release, proving their shared statement around the break-up true: Shawn and Camila remained friendly post-breakup.
But there’s nothing like the hot California desert and the summer vibes of the Coachella festival to take the two back to the warmth of an old flame: the singers were kissing in the swirl of festival dust and music. Should we start getting ready for a new wave of hit love songs by this duo, or was it just the feeling of freedom somewhere in the desert that got the two back together? Camila recently released bits of June Gloom, hinting at new music coming soon and letting the world into their Coachella fling as the lyrics say it all:
“Are you coming to Coachella? / If you don’t, it’s whatever / If you do, it’d be all I think about,”
Shawn got the message showing up in khaki pants for the festival, and Camila sure was right about being unable to resist: whatever the Coachella Kiss meant for the superstars, we all wonder what if Monday at the Met, they meet again.
