Everything about the Versace virtual runway show gave me the warm and fuzzies. I love Italian design houses and especially Versace. Sometimes fashion can be silly or weird and that’s a good thing. Fashion is meant to be expressive of everything. In some cases the more avant garde something is the more its reflective of unique artistry or thought. But I like my fashion cool, and versace always brings the cool. From starting and ending with a strawberry haired Gigi Hadid to launching a new monogram within the collection, the Versace show did not disappoint.
The new monogram, named La Greca, is a take on the brand’s heritage Greek Key pattern. In the film that Versace released for their virtual show, La Greca, the monogram, was blown up into a massive wooden structure that framed a runway-style show. Models walked through monograms wearing monogram clothes, carrying monogram bags, and accessorizing with monogram jewelry.
The silhouette was retro-futuristic, sexy streetwear, mod dresses and a reference to the 1970’s.
