coachella-1Coachella is here and it couldn’t have come any sooner. To further excitement two big names have just been added to the lineup. Pixies and Julian Casablancas are the newest additions to the festival. Both will be playing on Saturday. Both artists appeared on the official festival schedule, that was released Tuesday night. Neither Pixies or Julian Casablancas were on the lineup when it first was released in January. Meaning that devote fans of either musicians are probably very sad they didn’t get tickets to Coachella. Pixies will be returning to Coachella after reuniting at the event in 2004.When it comes to Julian Casablancas, he has performed as a solo artist at Coachella a few years ago in 2010 and again with the Strokes in 2011. Coachella will once again take over two epic weekends, from Apr. 11-13 and Apr. 18-20. The fest will be headlines by acts like OutKast, Muse and Arcade Fire. Also on the bill are HAIM, Motorhead, Carnage, Beck, Lana Del Rey, Zedd, Chance The Rapper, Queens of the Stone Age, The Knife, Skrillex, ZZ Ward, Lorde, Beck, Calvin Harris and ASAP Ferg.

The line-up is extremely diverse and caters to all musical needs. This has made the festival popular and of course the promoters a lot of money. StubHub  has conducted an in-depth look at the festival landscape using their data. Music Festival comes in at #1 on this years top list of the hottest, most in-demand acts and the biggest ticket sales.
